Do you have space on your sofa? Animals we care for need safe and loving homes - like yours

ADOPTOBER
We are currently facing the biggest rehoming crisis in recent memory*. RSPCA rescue centres and branches across England and Wales are ‘full to bursting'* as more unwanted animals are coming into our care than being adopted. Thousands of pets are waiting for homes as you read this. The more that are adopted, the greater our capacity to continue rescuing and caring for other animals becomes.
Adoptober is for the animals that need rehoming
We dedicate every October to raising awareness of all the amazing animals in our care looking to find their people and their place. After being rescued from heartbreaking cruelty and neglect, they are eagerly awaiting the joy and safety of a loving home. This month focuses on them and their incredibly unique personalities – and also, on you.
Sharing our homes with pets can be so rewarding and fulfilling. But adopting isn’t the only way you can help. Volunteering as a foster carer can provide invaluable assistance at our RSPCA centres, creating even more space for the many animals who need us. That’s why we need you – and why the animals do, too.

How adoption works
Giving an animal in need a loving home is a wonderful thing to do. We’ll walk you through the process, from finding the right match to bringing your newest family member home, so you can both start a great life together.

Give an animal a temporary home
If you’re not ready to adopt, would you consider fostering? It’s a really rewarding way to help. For many animals, being in a foster home is an essential step on their road to a forever home.
