Millie’s journey began with gentle muzzle training – a crucial step in helping her overcome her fear of other dogs. Gradually, we introduced her to other dogs from afar. Soon, she was making eye contact with us for reassurance when she spotted another dog – a real breakthrough!

Physical exercise
Thanks to your Sponsorship, we can give dogs like Millie all the exercise they need to bounce back to their best.
Millie loved exploring our spacious paddocks, including our special agility area. This space has fun obstacles at different heights and surfaces, building her confidence and providing mental and physical stimulation.
We also took Millie on little outings to prepare for her big adventure beyond our gates. With each trip, she became more comfortable in different settings, preparing her for a loving home.

Play and building bonds
Play isn’t just fun – it’s an essential part of every kind of care we provide. It’s crucial for a dog’s wellbeing and helps build trust.
Millie always had a variety of toys in her kennel – from her favourite squeaky soft toys to chew bones. We also gave her boxes to tear apart, tapping into her natural instincts and keeping her content.
In our forested play area, we hid treats in logs and trees for Millie to discover, a relaxing game that helped her stay calm and happy. Your loyalty fills our centres with joy every day.
Mental wellbeing
Your Sponsorship helps us support dogs in expressing their natural behaviours throughout their stay with us.
We provide puzzle toys, digging areas, and places to forage. Sniffing out scattered treats during walks helped lower Millie’s stress levels.
Our ‘home-from-home’ rooms, complete with comfy sofas and everyday sounds, were also crucial in Millie’s journey. She spent weekly sessions there, learning to settle amidst typical household noises. This cosy space helps dogs like Millie ease into home life, setting them up for success with their forever families.
