A LETTER FROM Emma Cosby

You make it all possible

I’m Emma, a Behaviour and Welfare Adviser at RSPCA Great Ayton Animal Centre. My passion is giving every dog the best chance at a happy, healthy life.

Every day, I see how your RSPCA Sponsorship transforms lives. Take Millie, for example. She arrived very scared of other dogs. Thanks to you, she received the behavioural care and rehabilitation she needed.

Your generosity supports dog kennels across all RSPCA centres in England and Wales. You’re transforming lives, one animal at a time. Thank you so much for making this possible.

Care fact

Did you know that a wagging tail doesn’t always mean a happy dog? It can mean frustration.

PROTECT LOCAL WILDLIFE

Making a hedgehog-friendly garden

As autumn leaves begin to fall, hedgehogs search for cosy havens. With a few simple changes, your garden could be their perfect sanctuary.

You can create hedgehog highways by cutting 13cm x 13cm holes in your fences and leave out fresh water and crumbled dog or cat biscuits. By swapping harmful slug pellets for natural alternatives like crushed eggshells, you’re not just helping hedgehogs. You’re nurturing your local ecosystem. But why stop there? There’s so much more you can do for wildlife in your area. Discover how you can become a true friend to nature as an RSPCA Wildlife Friend.
