Finsbury Park Animal Hospital

About Finsbury Park Animal Hospital

In addition to our core work of providing veterinary care for animals presented by RSPCA Inspectors we provide a subsidised (not free) veterinary service to animals whose owners are registered with us. We are not taking on new clients or registering any new pets for existing clients.

Hospital facilities

Finsbury Park Animal Hospital has eight wards and two operating theatres, as well as diagnostic and laboratory facilities.

The hospital’s team focuses its expert veterinary services on supporting our frontline officers and treating animals rescued from cruelty and neglect.

History

Finsbury Park Animal Hospital, located in Holloway, North London, was built in 1968 using money left by Sir Harold Harmsworth in his will.

Sir Harold Harmsworth, an animal lover who came from a prominent publishing family, wanted to provide a place where people who lived in the area could receive veterinary treatment for their pets.

The RSPCA has funded the hospital since 1968, helping thousands of animals since.

As cruelty and neglect increases, the RSPCA made the decision for Finsbury Park to focus on supporting our frontline officers rescuing animals from cruelty and neglect. The RSPCA and PDSA - the vet charity - joined together to help pet-owners in the community access low-cost veterinary services.
