Kitten Season
We are currently in the middle of kitten season! Sadly in our area many people do not have their cats neutered and we are seeing kittens of 6 and 7 months of age having kittens. In another 6 months both mums and kittens will breed again and homes are going from 1 cat to more than ten in a matter of months. Basic care costs such as flea and worm treatments soon mount up and the animals' welfare can suffer if these costs are no longer manageable.
We urge everyone to have your pets neutered if you haven't done so already. Young females can get pregnant before they reach 6 months of age and young toms will roam, looking for females if they are not neutered before maturity, often leading to them getting lost or hit by cars. Please ask your vet for advice.
