Cat adoption or fostering
Are you crazy about cats?
Could you help by fostering or re homing our cats?
We have a number of lovely cats and kittens in our care who have been waiting for a while now to go to their new homes. The numbers of cats that we have worked with this year has not had a seasonal decline and this is impacting on our ability to take other cats in from the inspectors.
We are also in the process of making improvements to our cattery facilities so ideally would like to get our cats settled in to new homes as they are not keen on the workmen disrupting their routines!
We have young, old, male and female friendly, independent and pairs of cats all who deserve a good home after their experiences.
To adopt a cat you can view their profiles on line at RSPCA Fylde branch where you can see their profiles. Then contact us so we can discuss the cats needs with you. We can then arrange a meeting with the cat/cats. Following that an adoption support visit is agreed and an adoption fee will be requested. Adoption fees are £80 for a kitten and £60 for an adult cat.
If you feel you could only offer a foster placement due to your situation then the benefits to the animals are that it helps to play a vital part in the rehabilitation of the animal and helps improve their chance of finding a new home.
Many animals that we take in have either suffered or are not used to the care and affection that they deserved. Living with a foster family helps to provide them with one-to-one care. Allowing them to build up their confidence and get used to a normal lifestyle.
Liz Rawson-Hall, Fylde branch manager said offering a placement to foster cats and kittens brings so much joy to see the animal in question grow in confidence and relax in a home environment. It makes you feel like you have achieved a wonderful thing by offering your home and heart to a vulnerable animal when its most in need. The feedback from people who have then gone on to adopt the animals is always positive as the care and love shows through in the cat.
Tabitha is a lovely cat who just wants to have attention. She loves to head bump and have a stroke and be brushed. When she came in to us she was not in the best condition but now she is ready to go to her new home. She is a firm favourite with the cattery staff and will be missed but we will be so pleased to see her go to a home where she can get the care she deserves.
