Meet Hazel and Bigwig: A Special Pair Looking for a Forever Home
Hazel and Bigwig are two independent, spirited rabbits seeking an experienced, understanding home. They are a bonded pair with a unique history and need a special environment to thrive. Due to their shy nature, they are not suitable for homes with young children, but they have lots of love to offer the right family.
Their Story: Hazel and Bigwig were rescued from cramped conditions, abandoned with two other rabbits, all underweight and with visible wounds. Despite their tough start, they’ve made progress and now need a calm, patient home to continue their journey.
Personalities: While they’re not overly cuddly, they enjoy occasional strokes and often approach during feeding time. Bigwig likes to play “boss” over food, sometimes chasing Hazel before sharing. Hazel is more reserved but will take food from your hand if Bigwig isn’t nearby.
Neither rabbit enjoys being picked up for long, especially Bigwig, who’s strong and likes to wriggle free. However, they tolerate brief handling and prefer staying on the ground. Hazel and Bigwig are deeply bonded, often grooming each other, and must be adopted together.
Ideal Home: They need a spacious outdoor enclosure with plenty of room to explore and stay busy. Their home should be at least 3x2x1m, permanently attached to a double height 6ft hutch (the bigger, the better!). Currently housed in a double-height cage with a run, they love spending time outside in an enclosed space on nice days.
