Dan and Claire started volunteer dog walking for us in December 2009 and adopted their first dog Troy the gorgeous Rottweiler from us in 2011. In 2013 Troy was joined by Stafforshire Bull Terrier Crossbreed Cara and the household was complete.

Sadly this year age got the better of wonderful Troy and it became time to say goodbye. In tribute to Troy and the wonderful times they shared Dan has been training hard with the aim of competing in the notorious Tough Mudder course and raise money for our branch and animal centre.

As you will see from the pictures Dan completed his Tough Mudder course and in doing so raised a whopping £730.00!! How fabulous is that!!

Well done to Dan and his comrades for getting each other through the challenge.

We can't deny being a little jealous of Cara's new collar, she is a very lucky girl indeed.

A very fitting tribute to Troy who had such a presence and a place in all our hearts, we know that he would be very proud too.
