Meet the stars of Downton 'Tabby'.....
Mary, Edith, Cora and Robert are RSPCA rescue kittens soon to be looking for their forever homes.
Ahead of the much anticipated start of the final series of Downton Abbey this weekend, the RSPCA wants to share its own superstars looking for their happy ending.
As the country’s largest rehomer of pets the RSPCA is appealing to the fans of Downton Abbey to see if they can open their hearts to a kitten in need of a home.
The kittens named Mary, Edith, Cora and Robert are at RSPCA Stapeley Grange animal centre in Nantwich, Cheshire.
Their mother, Whisper, was found walking the streets of Stoke with her four kittens. They were brought into the animal centre on June 14 by an RSPCA inspector.
Deputy Manager, Joyce Mellor, said: “Whisper was in a terrible state - really emaciated - as were the kittens when they arrived.
“She was not producing any milk so the staff had to hand rear them, she did however start to produce milk after a week so the kittens were returned to her.
“They are a real joy to have around, the kittens are lovely lively little cats.”
The kittens are now near four months old, although they are not quite ready for adoption as they still have an infection which is being treated.
The RSPCA currently has more than 1,250 cats available for rehoming To see these and all the animals in our care please visit www.rspca.org.uk/findapet
