2019 Figures out for Stapeley Grange
Stapeley is a small cattery relative to most RSPCA Animal Centres but as they say 'its not always about size'! For the cattery team it's more about throughput of our cats and how quickly we can get our cats adopted so that we can take in more.
The RSPCA's priority, when it comes to admitting animals to our Centres, is that we admit Inspector generated cats first; those most at risk i.e. injured, abandoned or mistreated. Often those cats arriving are in need of more care and support than non RSPCA generated cats, whether that be from a veterinary point of view or a behavioral one. Whatever the reason it may takes us longer to have them 'ready for rehoming' which means they are generally in care with us longer.
In 2019 we rehomed 178 cats, 7 more than in 2018. that's 178 cats that have are now living in their 'loving forever homes' which is fantastic news. We are determined however to rehome more in 2020 and are planning to launch a #AdoptDon'tShop programme to generate even greater interest in the cattery and the cats in our care.
Social media and more press releases will also play a major ongoing role in our challenge to adopt out as many cats as we possible can in 2020. So please follow and retweet / share our tweets and Facebook posts. @RSPCAStapeley or @StapeleyCats
