Subsidised neutering scheme for bull-breed dogs
RSPCA Surrey East offers subsidised neutering scheme for bull-breed dogs.
Owners of bull-breed dogs in the Horley, Redhill and Reigate areas who are on means-tested benefits are eligible to have their dogs neutered at a discount.
This scheme is part of the RSPCA’s drive to tackle the growing number of unwanted Staffordshire Bull Terriers and other bull breeds in its rehoming centres as a consequence of overbreeding.
The subsidised scheme is available to those on means-tested benefits living in the following postcodes: RH1 RH2 RH3 RH4 RH5 RH6 RH7 RH8 and RH19 2.
The following dog breeds are eligible: Staffordshire Bull Terriers, English Bull Terriers, American Bulldogs, Bull Mastiffs, Presa Canarios and Bull Crossbreeds.
Neutering can cost in the region of £150 for female dogs and £100 for males, but owners meeting the eligibility criteria will be able to arrange an appointment for their dogs at a participating veterinary practice for the reduced fee of £50.
