How we help local animals
We offer veterinary/financial assistance to help animals most in need in our branch area. Please contact us to find out more, or view information about using our low-cost charity clinic.
It is far more cost-effective for animals to be treated via our own clinic than by us providing a small amount of help at private vets, so we encourage owners who know they would struggle to afford treatment to get their pets registered with us by visiting the clinic for a health check, vaccination, or micro-chip insertion. Registration lasts for two years and means your pet will have access to our out of hours emergency cover.
The RSPCA clinic now has a single number for appointments, repeat prescriptions and general enquiries.
The number to call is 01223 609689
You will need to listen to the message and select the correct option using the number keypad on your phone
This will put you in a queue and you will be answered as soon as possible.
The queues will be active at the following times:
Appointments: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9.15am-11.15am
Repeat Prescriptions: Tuesday and Thursday: 11.30am-12.30pm
General enquiries: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday: 9am-12.30pm
Wednesday afternoon: 2pm-3pm
If your animal is registered with us and needs to be seen urgently, please call 07742 658086, anytime.
For all other animal emergencies please phone the national RSPCA on 0300 1234 999
We also promote responsible pet ownership through neutering and microchipping campaigns and we care for and rehome needy animals brought to us by our local RSPCA Inspectors.
